Esentepe Municipality
When entering Esentepe by the coastal road, 300-350 meters ahead there is the biggest architectural structure at the village square; the mosque of Esentepe. When passing the mosque, in front of it, after an environmental reformation completed recently, a modern small building was built for the municipality. The municipality started its service to our people in 1980. Before 1980, the committee ‘Ercümen’ has served the community. The boundary of the municipality is towards the west of the Teknecik power plant, towards the east where the Bahçeli village is located. At the north it is in service till the boundary of the Alevkaya forest department.

Until today, with today’s Municipality president Mr. Erdal BARUT and including three other people, they have tried their best with the possibilities they have to serve the community. The first municipality president was Mr. Mehmet KIM, then Mr. Yusuf KARAL and today it is Mr. Erdal BARUT as he is continuing his duty with success in serving the regions community. With the today’s developmental conditions, as in every sector there has been a delay in the new era and developing technology and the Municipality is trying to keep in track. It has been forgotten many years in the east of Kyrenia, away from the sight of people until; the north shore project was put into process. When this road project was concluded, an obvious development and structure became reality. As a result of this development, the income of the municipality gave the opportunity to put into process the projects the municipality had in its plan. Within the routine, the municipality administration also contributes to sporting activities in the frame of opportunities. This year for the first time, under the name of Esentepe Municipality, the women volleyball team has won the championship twice. Esentepe is progressing appropriately with the eras requirements and is providing a quite good service to its community.

Esentepe is one of the most touristic and historic places of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Its beauty and value are in no doubt. The people and tourists settling in Esentepe in recent years show their joy, exciment and happiness of living in Esentepe by the sparkle in their eyes.
As part of the Municipality of Esentepe, our recently published magazine shows the name to be "Shining Star of the Turkish Republic of Nothern Cyprus".

In my opinion, Esentepe will become one of the biggest tourist and holiday paradises on the Island.
On the whole the people living in Esentepe and settling here over the years are mixing well and have a warm and comfortable relationship which shows how they stand out as people of the Mediterranean Sea.
Esentepe is active,exciting,lively sensitive and enthusiastic in all aspects of life. This shows how well the people of Esentepe and the people of different nations can live together in paradise.
To help understand and explain about Esentepe, I would like to thank Umut BAHADİR for all his work. Also I would like to thank the valuable council, in the past and present the service of Cemal KORELİ. the Municipality Presidents Mehmet KİM and Yusuf KARAL.
