Esentepe Sports Club & Sporting Fields

The Esentepe Sports Club was founded in 1975, along with the formation of the Esentepe Football Team. Within long years from 1975 till 1995, the Esentepe Sports Club has taken part in the amateur league (BTM). In the year 1995, the legendary president of Esentepe Sports Club – Hasan R. BİRİNCİ – has embedded his name with golden letters to the history of football in the T.R.N.C. The Esentepe Sports Club has continued on with its successful championship series from 1995 till the super-league match in the year 2001, where they were defeated. In the history of football in the T.R.N.C, no other football club has shown one after the other, non-stop rising success, initiating from the amateur league right up to the Super league.

It has been constructed by the Ministry of Sports in the year 2000, though all of its projects have not yet been carried out. Constructed for the continuing series of successes shown by the Esentepe Sports Club, this stadium comes first in place for its well-care amongst grass standards in Northern Cyprus. Situated in the middle of the forest, the field is surrounded with pine trees and certainly is a great sporting facility.

The construction of the filed began in the year 2004 and was completed in 2005. The public regions’ fondness for football is well known all over in Northern Cyprus. For many years the public had to drive upon a 37 km road to Kyrenia in order to play outdoor football. But now, the Esentepe has its own outdoor football facility at the center of the village. With the prime aim to provide a pleasant sporting time for the public and also to keep teenagers away from bad habits by directing them to sporting facilities, the mini football facility is situated within the wedding park, as both constructions appear beautifully by complementing each other.

The concrete covering of the soil field and also the wiring of the surrounding of the field has provided a much better view for the volleyball and handball field. Besides the Esentepe Primary and Middle schools, the people of the village also use this field. In this field, our schools have achieved a countless number of successes in sports. When the word Esentepe is said, the very first thing that comes to mind is Esentepe’s aquired success in football, volleyball and handball.
